It Starts With a Conversation, Not a Contract

The first meeting is not a sales pitch. It is a conversation. We want to understand what is not working about your current space — and just as importantly, whether remodeling is even the right answer for you.

Sometimes it is. Sometimes an addition makes more sense. Sometimes buying something different and starting fresh is the smarter move. We are not going to steer you toward remodeling just to get the job. We are going to be honest with you about what your options actually are, because that is how we have worked since day one.

Design Happens In-House — Right at the Table

This is where Rosewood works differently than most.

When you hire a general contractor for a remodel, there is often a chain of people involved — a designer somewhere, a draftsman somewhere else, plans submitted to a lumber yard or an outside firm, a waiting list, rounds of revisions that take weeks.

That is not how this works here.

When we sit down to talk through your remodel, the sketch pad comes out at that same meeting. We draw it. We talk through it. We change it right there if something does not feel right. No waiting. No submitting plans somewhere and hoping they come back the way you described them. No back of the line.

This week we were in a selection review meeting with a remodel client — going through materials, finishes, decisions. Somewhere in that conversation we looked at the floor plan again. Moved the formal dining room. Added a powder bath. Modified the master bedroom layout to make it work. All of it happened at the table, over tea, in the same meeting.

That is what in-house design looks like in real life.

Changes Mid-Process Are Normal — Not a Problem

One of the biggest fears people have going into a remodel is that changing their mind will cost them enormously or derail the whole project.

Here is the honest answer: changes happen. They are a natural part of the process, especially when you are working inside an existing home where surprises are part of the job. A wall comes down and something shifts. You see the space open up and realize the layout you drew feels different in real life than it did on paper.

We build flexibility into how we work. The earlier in the process a change happens, the easier it is. We would rather you speak up in the planning stage — weeks before anything gets touched — than stay quiet and live with something that does not feel right.

Our job is to listen, apply what we hear, and implement it well. That is the whole job.

When the Right Call Is to Pause — A Real Story

We worked with a family not long ago on a full custom home design. Months of planning. Wants and wish lists. Every detail drawn out, revised, and refined. Selections picked — windows, flooring, finishes. The plan was complete.

And then interest rates spiked.

Common Questions We Hear

How long does a remodel take?
It depends on scope. A single bathroom can move in weeks. A kitchen runs 6–10 weeks on average. A whole-house renovation or large addition is a months-long process. We give you a realistic timeline at the start — not an optimistic one — so you can plan your life around it.

Do I need to move out during a remodel?
For smaller projects, usually not. For larger whole-house work or kitchen gut jobs, it depends on how much of the home is affected. We talk through this with you before anything starts.
